KAHNE, CAPPS TO CARRY MOPAR COLORS AT ‘PRELUDE' PPV EVENT

Team Mopar United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint and Midget car owner and NASCAR Nextel Cup superstar Kasey Kahne will fly the Mopar colors in one of this summer's most anticipated motorsports events, the third annual "Nextel Prelude to the Dream presented by Old Spice," on June 6 at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

The Prelude features an all-star cast of NASCAR Nextel Cup racers and other invited drivers in three 10-lap heats and a 30-lap feature at the fabled half-mile dirt track, using late model stock cars. Organized as a charity event by NASCAR champion Tony Stewart, the Prelude benefits both the Victory Junction Gang Camp and the Tony Stewart Foundation. Adding to the evening's uniqueness is its HBO Pay-Per-View broadcast, anchored by veteran Mike Joy, with color commentary by NASCAR legends Darrell Waltrip and Kyle Petty and pit reporting by Dick Berggren and Matt Yocum. The event will likely be one of the most-watched dirt-track races in history, given the broadcast's availability to more than 61 million homes.

Facing off against Kahne and Team Mopar driver and current NHRA Funny Car points leader Ron Capps (shown) will be a who's who of motorsports stars. Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Carl Edwards, Bill Elliott, Ryan Newman, and Juan Pablo Montoya are just some of the Nextel Cup drivers scheduled to take part. Ray Evernham, Kahne's team owner, will come out of his own driving retirement to compete in the Prelude; Evernham was a standout weekend warrior in the 1970s and ‘80s, competing mostly on the asphalt tracks of his native New Jersey.

Those interested in ordering the HBO Pay-Per-View broadcast can do so right up until race time on June 6. All that is necessary to order the event is digital cable or satellite service. A subscription to HBO is not required. The suggested retail price is $24.95. Ordering information and up-to-the minute racing information is available at hbo.com/sports. The live broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. PDT), with an immediate replay and subsequent replays throughout the week and the following weekend.
